Content Methodologist · Educational Games
The educational logic of the product: which skill each game develops, for which age and under which approach.
Position summary
You own the educational logic of the product: which skill each game develops, for which age band and under which pedagogical approach. You turn learning goals into rules the content team and the game developers build against, and you keep quality consistent as the library grows.
This is a permanent role on the core team: daily work with game development, product and external child-development reviewers. Methodology, taxonomy and content standards are yours.
Key responsibilities
- A content taxonomy: skill domains, age bands, difficulty levels and the tags every game maps to.
- Creation rules: how to design a learning activity, what counts as real skill progression and what to avoid.
- QC criteria and review cycles on educational content before release.
- Learning mechanics co-designed with game developers: what the child does, what feedback they get and how play maps to the stated skill.
- Character dialogue for child-directed conversation: tone, clarity, age fit and alignment with learning intent.
Required qualifications
Read this block before applying. If most of these are a no, we won't be able to take you on this role, and we'll both lose the time.
- Credentials: M.Ed, Ed.D or PhD in Education, Child Development, Learning Sciences or Early Childhood Education. Documented curriculum leadership at a recognized EdTech company also works.
- 5+ years building educational content or curriculum for children ages 3–12.
- At least two cases where you defined learning objectives, age targeting and content structure for games, apps or interactive programs. Bring samples.
- Taxonomy from scratch: you have built or owned a tagging system across skills, ages, topics and difficulty, plus the rules for mapping content to it.
- A real QC framework: you have written rubrics or checklists with pass and fail criteria and used them in production.
- Game-adjacent methodology: you have worked with game designers on learning loops, feedback and progression. Classroom-only delivery is not a fit here.
- English B2+ for documentation and team sync. Strong written Russian if you will edit Russian dialogue variants.
Nice to have
- Kids EdTech: Homer, Khan Academy Kids, ABCmouse, Lingokids, MarcoPolo, Osmo or similar.
- Smart toys, voice companions or AI character products for children.
- US and UAE market experience: localization of the educational framing, not translation.
- Learning science or user research: A/B testing on learning tasks, skill retention across sessions.
Stack
- Documentation and taxonomy: Notion, Google Workspace, content spreadsheets
- Task flow: Jira or Linear, review loops with game development
- AI tooling for drafts and dialogue variants: Claude, ChatGPT

- Creation rules and QC rubrics the content team works from without you touching every task by hand.
- The share of games passing educational review on the first pass grows package over package.
- Skill claims on each game hold up under external expert review.
